An immersive virtual reality experience is about to open in Bridge Park.
VR sandbox–the San Francisco-based virtual reality company backed by Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry — will begin welcoming visitors before the end of the month.
Reservations for Sandbox VR’s new Dublin space are open now live. According to its website, the earliest date a reservation can be made is November 18. Sandbox couldn’t be reached for comment at the time of this story’s publication, so it’s unclear exactly when the concept’s official unveiling will take place, or if it will come later.
Sandbox VR is located at 6737 Longshore St., STE 130.
Billed as “the most advanced virtual reality in the world”, the new Bridge Park space will feature four different virtual reality rooms that use full-body motion capture technology. Each free-flowing room will allow up to six people to “transport themselves into their own action movie” through virtual experiences ranging from battling a horde of zombies with shotguns to navigating a spaceship Star Trek and fighting pirates on the high seas.
Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes, with approximately 30 minutes of play.
