
Slated for release in mid-2023, Singer Studios will bring the untold story of The Pirate Queen to new audiences around the world.
Founded by Eloise Singer in 2017, Singer Studios is a UK-based production house and creative studio that creates world-class cross-platform storytelling across film, television, podcasts and interactive media.
The Pirate Queen VR adventure puzzle game is inspired by the true story of Chinese pirate Cheng I Sao, a widow who took over her husband’s fleet and became the most powerful pirate of all time, commanding over of 70,000 men before the Opium Wars. Players will be transported on an 18th century pirate ship in the South China Sea on the night of his succession.

The Pirate Queen VR short film of the same name, was backed by Creative England, BFI ScreenSkills and received the Discovery Award for Best Debut at the 2021 Raindance Film Festival.

THE PIRATE QUEEN marks SINGER STUDIOS’ debut in cinematic virtual reality and will be created and delivered by its new subsidiary; SINGER INTERACTIVE – this division will specialize in the development of immersive storytelling experiences and cinematic games.
