MILLION LABELS, Shonen Jump +The “battle audition” show to discover “the next manga star creator” around the world announced on Friday that the winner is Naoki Fujita for his “Beat & Motion” manga. As a prize, Fujita’s work will become an anime adaptation that will be released worldwide and exclusively on Netflix. Fujita also won 5 million yen (approximately US $ 45,000), the opportunity to serialize his manga on Shonen Jump +, and a compiled book volume of his manga. The eight-episode show debuted on the official website Youtube channel for Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on July 2. The program follows six teams, each with a potential manga creator and a Shueisha manga editor, as they go head-to-head in four challenges. (One of the teams has a writer and a manga artist instead of a creator.)
The program hosts are the comedy trio YONSENTOSHIN and the voice actor Ayane sakura. The judges invited in the final challenge included Man with chainsaw Creator Tatsuki Fujimoto and Heaven from Hell: Jigokuraku Creator Yuji kaku. Netflix anime producer Kohei Obara served as a guest judge in the show’s final challenge in its final episode.
