Netflix held an online press conference on Wednesday to present its highly anticipated new reality show, “New World,” starring Lee Seung-gi, Eun Ji-won, Park Na-rae, Kim Hee-chul, Cho Bo-ah and Kai.
According to Netflix, “New World” is an “unscripted series that tells the story of unexpected events that unfold in a utopia full of survival missions, competitions and twists and turns through a new kind of simulation.”
At the press conference, Lee presented the program in more detail.
âThe members live in this new world called Shinsegae for six days. It is a place where everyone’s desires come true. There is its own virtual currency and several missions to accomplish, âsaid Lee. âThe series is not your typical reality TV show. It is unforeseen and we are very happy to participate.
Eun also said that the new series will be especially popular with those who like to play online games.
âAchieving the things you’ve dreamed of in a virtual world and playing games with others is really exciting,â said Eun.
The directors of the new series are Cho Hyo-jin and Go Min-seok.
Ko said the new series is set on an island with the aim of providing a “mysterious and new feeling, trying to portray a place far from the real world.”
The first episode is scheduled to air on November 20.
