Entrepreneurs, influencers, musicians, designers and artists flock to the Australian seaside town of Byron Bay. It’s a creative hotspot, full of promise – and so much drama. They come for the dreamy beaches, gorgeous sunsets, and high-impact hookups, but it can be brutal—and the gossip can be fierce—if you’re from out of town and trying to break into this tight-knit community of locals. . This 8×40 minute episode docusoap follows an inner circle of friends as they navigate life, love and career.

Now let’s meet the baes!
SARAH
Sarah is the new girl in town. Hailing from the Gold Coast, the talented singer – who records music as st. James – moved to Byron Bay to pursue his musical ambitions. With its free-spirited and creative community, Sarah hope this is the place where she can express her true self and find happiness.
NATHAN
Nat – who dreams of one day opening his own bar – lives the epitome of Australian beach life. He grew up on Sydney’s northern beaches and frequented Byron Bay for years before moving. Nathan is no stranger to Australian viewers, having appeared on the bachelorette in 2018 and Bachelor in Paradise in 2019. Having found solace in his adopted town, he would like to see harmony between locals and newcomers trying to break into this close-knit community.
JADE
Influencer and model Jade shot to social media stardom after a photo of him and Kim Kardashian at his perfume launch went viral. Now boasting 1.2 million followers on Instagram, he has since appeared in the Feature film 2021 The Possessed. Growing up in rural New South Wales, Jade struggled to fit in and was bullied at school. He just moved to Byron from the Gold Coast to make meaningful real-life connections and learn to let his guard down and let people in.
HANNAH
Long-time Byron local Hannah is a witty soul with an eccentric flair. Her Instagram account shows her impeccable style and her travels around the world where she collects goods for her family’s popular store, Bisque vendors.
XANDER
alexander capitalized on the rise of social media, spotting potential and creating empires with his quick wit and sharp tongue. Born in Brisbane, he moved to Byron to grow his talent agency and better understand the Instagrammable epicenter of Australia’s counterculture.
SHE
She is a high-flying businesswoman with a social conscience. After creating his first company at age 26, his investment activity revolves around his philanthropic and environmental interests. She is driven by the need to make an impact and does international business from the Byron Bay home she shares with her best friend and fellow countryman Bae, Nathan. Incredibly spiritual, she practices meditation, yoga and qigong daily.
JESSICA
Born and raised in Byron Bay, jessica has made an impressive name for herself in the international fashion world. The fashion business queen started designing clothes aged 16 before launching her own successful label – Johansen – in 2015. Her brand flourished through social media promotion with her clothes seen on the likes of Kylie Jenner among others.
ELIAS
Surfing, working out and riding, fitness fanatic elias lives and breathes the great outdoors. Elias, who appeared on love island australia in 2018, originally grew up in Melbourne, Victoria. He eventually found his way to Byron, where he found his soul family. When he’s not busy modeling, elias works as a marketing manager in a social media marketing company.
CAI
Cai’s hipster punk rock looks and bohemian energy make him a household name in his hometown of Mullumbimby, just outside Byron. After studying at the prestigious Central Saint Martins College in London, he spent six years abroad soaking up the punk art and fashion scenes of Berlin, Paris and London. Since his return, he has been modeling, creating video content and selling his photographic art online.
SASKIA & FRIMMY
Go-getter fashionista Saskia moved to Byron from Brisbane to be with her boyfriend and comrade Bae, Dave or “Frimmy” as he is known. They both have business acumen and share the same entrepreneurial spirit. She loves and wants nice things – including her Porsche – and works hard to get them. Frimmy’s business endeavors and a desire for a laid-back surfing lifestyle took him from the northern beaches of Sydney to Byron. The successful businessman – who plans to start a private jet charter business from Sydney to Byron – has met compatriot Bae and his girlfriend of five years, Saskia, through work and was immediately smitten. Their home in Byron is a beacon to all their friends and fellow Baes.
Simba
Simba escaped the corporate world in Melbourne for a life in Byron, embracing all that the healing region has to offer. His life revolves around surfing, training, and performing impressive fire-twirling ceremonies that keep him fit and bring a special energy to those around him.
LAUREN
lauren – sister of fellow countryman Bae jessica – has always been popular; a head turner who lives the Byron Bay lifestyle that others envy. At 21, she studied television presentation at NIDA in Sydney. When she’s not modeling, she spends her days surfing, lying on the beach and driving around in her soft-top BMW.
Byron Baes will be broadcast on Netflix on March 9, with 8 episodes of 40 minutes!
